What is a Parish Plan?

A Parish Plan is a comprehensive community consultation that:
* is carried out by residents working in a voluntary capacity
* results with an ACTION PLAN outlining issues and projects that need to be addressed.

Why do we need a Parish Plan?

* Brings the community together to achieve a common goal.
* Looks at community aspirations.
* Highlights issues and concerns held by residents - What do YOU need?
* Establishes what the Parish has and what it needs to conserve.
* Looks at services and facilities within the community.
* Provides a document to illustrate the need for funding to revitalise services and facilities.
* Provides a document to illustrate the need for funding for additional services and facilities.
* The Action Plan can be used to enhance the quality of life of those living in the parish.

What can be included in the Parish Plan?

Question

Transport, amenities, leisure and recreation, youth and young people, crime and safety, environmental issues, local businesses, green space and access to the countryside, health and community care, village halls and community buildings, housing and education.

Who should be involved?

* All residents.
* Local businesses.
* Local schools.
* Church Groups.
* Local clubs and societies.
* Service providers.
EVERYONE WHO IS INVOLVED IN THE LIFE OF THE VILLAGE

And after the plan?

The Parish Plan is just the beginning.
The Parish Plan will highlight future projects and set goals.
The Parish Plan will identify actions and the way forward.
The Parish Plan will provide evidence for funding requests.

And now?

Following the Parish Meeting at Park House on the 14 April 2008, a group of people have put their names forward to create a group to develop a Parish Plan. If you are interested in joining this group then please contact Glenfield Parish Council who will be pleased to forward on your details.
