What is Glenwatch?

House

Glenwatch is an organisation that is designed to improve the welfare of the residents of Glenfield, that's you and us, and to provide reassurance regarding crime and anti-social behaviour.

The organisation runs through the village via small "schemes". A scheme is headed by a co-ordinator and covers a relatively small number of houses. For example there may be three schemes in one street.

Co-ordinators act as go-betweens, passing information from Glenwatch's Administrator to the members of their scheme, to make them aware of current criminal activity and possible threats. Of course the reverse is also true. Scheme members can pass information up through the organisation so that other scheme members become aware of any dangers.

There is a close link with the police, in particular Glenfield's Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Membership of Glenwatch is FREE.

The overall objective is to make Glenfield a safer place to live.

If you wish to know more about Glenwatch, who is your co-ordinator or if you would like to become a co-ordinator, which is not demanding, then contact the Glenwatch Administrator, Helen McAdam, on 07926194396. If Helen is not available just leave a message - she will call you back.

Remember a closer community is a safer community and a happier community.
