Parish Services

Park House is normally open on Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Parish Council is comprised of 21 members who are elected every four years.

Some of the Council’s functions and responsibilities are delegated to two committees and a number of working parties. At present there is a Property Committee responsible to Council for everything that Council owns or manages and a Community Committee considering other matters concerning the residents of the village. If residents have any queries or requests they should be addressed to the Parish Administrator but will then be reported to either Council or an appropriate committee for attention.

The Parish Council promotes the interests of Glenfield in its representations to other bodies and works in partnership with the District and County Councils to provide and supplement local government services within Glenfield. We do, at present, pay for additional street cleaning. The Parish Council is consulted on all planning applications made in Glenfield and, where appropriate, makes representations.

Meetings of the Parish Council and its committees are open to the public and all such meetings are publicised on the Parish Council's notice boards throughout the village.

The Parish Council produces an independent quarterly newsletter, ‘The Parish Pen’, published within the pages of the Glenfield Gazette.

Council maintains and provides allotments making a small charge towards the running costs.

We provide heavily subsidised sports facilities for Boules, Tennis, Softball, Soccer, Bowls and Cricket, and have two multisports pitches with floodlighting.

We maintain leisure facilities at Station Park, Ellis Park and the sports grounds off the A50 and Gynsill Lane.

We also provide support to Glenwatch and the Youth Club.

Rooms are available for hire at Park House and fees for all services can be obtained from the Parish Administrator, at Park House.

The Parish Office is normally open to the public between the hours of 8:30 and 16:00, Monday to Friday. For holiday dates, when the office is closed, please see the meetings calendar.
